Dancing Moose Cafe & Restaurant

#yummyeats! That’s how we describe the Dancing Moose Café. Home of the Dutch Pannekoek (Panna-who?), the Western European way to enjoy what us Canadian’s call pancakes. Served savory or sweet, the Dancing Moose gives new meaning to both. “Sweet” is anything from real whipped cream, syrup, honey, and icing sugar to fresh fruit, raisins, and nuts. “Savory” is the spicy version with options such as green onions, bacon and mushrooms (cooked in), gouda cheese (melted on top), your-way egg (fried on top), and bacon with ginger – who would have thought of that! Thrill seekers can build their own. If it’s in the kitchen, you can put it in your Pannekoek.

The Pannekoek may not be the only food to grab your attention. The Dancing Moose takes pride in their selection of fresh baked goods and impressive breakfast menu. Up until all hours of the night taking in all that Yellowknife has to offer? The Moose has you covered – all-day breakfast is available Saturdays and Sundays. There’s vegan and vegetarian items and a fun kids menu, too.

The Dancing Moose has stunning ocean views that can be enjoyed inside or out. Have a seat at the picture-window tables, or enjoy the fresh air outdoors where more seating is available. Feel free to pack a picnic lunch and grab a fresh backed dessert inside. Either way, spectacular scenery awaits.

Operating hours are 7:30am-3:30pm daily. You can walk from the hotel in about 15 minutes, and enjoy the galleries and stores along the way. Simply head northeast on Franklin Avenue toward 41 Street and take a slight right onto McDonald Drive.
